Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; he rises to show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him!
It's not easy to wait for the Lord when life gets tough. We want things to happen quickly and we want answers to our questions right away. And when we don't get the answers we want, we may think, "Why did God let this happen?" or "Why isn't God helping me with this?".
In reality, though, God is helping us, often in ways we do not see.
The Bible tells us that the Lord is a loving God who wants to help us. This verse says clearly that God "longs" to be gracious to us. Our Lord isn't just doing it to be nice, God desires to show us grace.
This verse also says that God "rises" to show us compassion. Think about that for a moment. God doesn't just forgive us because we ask nicely, Got wants to help us and show us compassion.
The key, as I see it, is to try to always understand that God is showing you compassion and God is helping you. You may not see it right away, and you may not see it until years later, but God is a God of justice and will help you with whatever struggles or challenges you face in your life.
If you feel alone or abandoned, I hope you will remember that God is always with you and will never abandon you. God loves you and wants to help you. You will see God's love in your life if you look for it and if give God a chance to help you.
Blessed are all who wait for him!
