The best way out is always through

Robert Frost is best known for the poem, "The Road Less Traveled," which is one of my favorite poems and one of the few that I actually know.

I'd like to say I'm well versed in poems
but the truth is I don't really know em
and if I write any, I tend to get lost
So instead I rely on the wise words of Frost.
Anyway, today I'd like to discuss this powerful quote from Frost, "The best way out is always through."
It's a great thought, and one that might help you if you are struggling with things in your life.
Too often when we are faced with problems, we try to avoid them or find ways to get around them. Whether they are problems with money, relationships, health or things less serious like playing sports or  worrying about how to act at a party or gathering, we don't take the problems head on nearly enough.
I know that with relationships, for example, I have often just tried to ignore problems in order to try to keep things happy, and that was the worst thing that I could have done. By ignoring the problems, I just prolonged them and made them worse. If I would have admitted that there were problems, discussed them and tried to fix them, I would have been much better off.
Or when I play recreation soccer, which I am terrible at, I often try to help my team by avoiding getting the ball on offense. I am decent on defense and I am actually pretty good at getting open on offense. I am terrible, however, at controlling the ball with my feet and trying to score. So a lot of times when I play, I just try to stay on defense or hope that they pass the ball to another player when I am on offense.
I would be a lot better off and a lot happier if I just practiced controlling the ball with my feet and then tried to get the ball to see how I could do. I might actually score and could possibly even help my team instead of just worrying about embarrassing myself.
Similarly,when I am nervous about how to act around people at parties, instead of just hanging out near the television or food table and worrying about embarrassing myself if I speak to many people, it would probably be a lot more healthy, less stressful and nice of me to just go talk to people and see how it goes.
It's really true for just about any problem or concern you have in life. The best way out is always through.
So the next time you face problems in your life,
and you are worried about troubles and strife;
Pledge to take on your troubles and you'll have better times,
and I'll promise to stop with these terrible rhymes.
