Today's verse from Psalm 9:9 is very clear, and I hope that it gives you some encouragement when life is getting you down.
"The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.
Often it may seem like we are praying to God who is off somewhere in Heaven, and we are hoping that God will do things to help us in our lives.
We need to remember, though, that God is not far away reading our prayers on the internet or listening in on a cell phone, God is right here with us no matter what is going on in our lives.
The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed.
We are often beaten down by all kinds of things in life and feel oppressed. Whether it is money issues, health problems, relationship issues, stress at work, problems at school or really any problem, we should turn to God to pray for hope and guidance.
Praying to God does not mean that your problems will automatically go away, but it does mean that you can draw strength from God to get through the tough times.
Think about if you were running from danger and had to find somewhere to go where you would be safe. In that safe place, you would regain your strength, receive encouragement and be given help to face whatever danger you face.
God can be that safe place in your life, no matter what the trouble is.
The Lord can help you regain your strength and hope, and the Lord will be with you to face whatever troubles you face in your life.
God loves you and I hope you will turn to the Lord with whatever troubles you.
